September Mission Focus: Nigeria
Kindness That Quenches More Than Thirst!
Our September Mission Focus will focus on some critical needs in Nigeria:
Digging a Third Well: Third Wave of Life
Empowering Widows Through Skill & Strength
Feeding 300 Widows with Love
Clean water and food give hope. Skill training gives opportunity. And your kindness makes it all possible. Whether you give, pray, or share the hope of this mission with others, you are part of a movement that is changing lives across continents.
Children & Youth Assistants Needed
Assistants Needed
In Matthew 28:19, Jesus instructed his followers to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.” While we might be tempted to consider discipling and teaching as a task just for missionaries, it’s important to remember that discipleship begins in our own churches, too!
There are several opportunities this fall to try out discipling others, by assisting in a variety of classes throughout the week. If you’ve been wanting to get involved …
Help Serve Our Neighbors
We will be serving our unhoused neighbors at Sharing Christ Ministry (on Sept. 13) and A Place to Be (on Sept. 17).
We are looking for volunteers to bring casseroles, applesauce, dinner rolls, and Little Debbie cakes. We are also looking for volunteers to help set up, serve and clean up for both locations.
Join a Fall 2025 Home Group
Home Groups are up and running!
Join us for an inspiring small group Bible study on the Fruit of the Spirit! The Fall 2025 curriculum is now available on our website.
Discover how the Holy Spirit cultivates qualities like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in our daily lives. Our weekly gatherings welcome and encourage us to grow spiritually, deepen our understanding of God's Word, and to connect with others on a faith journey.
Be a Fairmount Reading Buddy
Being a Reading Buddy provides unique opportunity for adults to support and inspire kindergarten, first, and second grade students on their reading journey. Thirty minutes of your time will make a huge difference in the life of the elementary student you will partner with! Reading Buddies help ensure that young learners enter third grade reading on grade level with a love for learning. No previous teaching experience is required!
Join the Choir
If you have an interest in sharing your talents for worship, the sanctuary choir would love to have you. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m. We are not a volunteer choir BUT, instead, we are a called choir: called to serve the church by our leadership in worship.
Loving One Another
At FPC we have a very active Care Committee (Congregational Care) who share the gift of hospitality in each of these ways as well as other ways. Would you consider exploring your gift for hospitality with the church?
Women’s Bible Study
Women’s Bible Study meets Thursdays from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. in room 123 at the church.
Next week will conclude the study of Women of the Bible. On September 4, we will begin a study of 1 Corinthians with an emphasis on finding hope in the midst of troubled times.
All women of the church and guests are welcome to join at any time. New participants are always welcome!
Men’s Bible Study
Come to the church parlor on Thursday’s at 7:00 a.m. for coffee, fellowship, and Bible study.
