Loving One Another
Recognized biblically as a gift, hospitality invites treating others with kindness, and mirroring the grace that we have received in Christ. For some, hospitality may be experienced in a simple phone call, or a note of encouragement, perhaps even a conversation over a cup of coffee. For others, hospitality is experienced through the gift of food, with a meal received at the right moment.
At FPC we have a very active Care Committee (Congregational Care) who share the gift of hospitality in each of these ways as well as other ways. Would you consider exploring your gift for hospitality with the church? Here are 2 concrete ways for you to share or develop a gift for hospitality.
Sign up to provide a meal through the FPC Meal Train account. Just send your email address to Dave Welch (dwelch@fpcbristol.org), or click here https://www.mealtrain.com/ We will add your email address to the database, which increases the potential for service but does not commit you to anything. By sharing your email, you will receive opportunity emails, with a recipient, possible dates, and food preferences but get to choose what works or doesn’t work for your schedule.
Volunteer with the committee (Congregational Care). This involves a monthly opportunity that may include an invitation to write a card, make a phone call, or visit with a member of the church; all to show God’s grace to those who have need for it.
For more information you can talk with Dave Welch, Karen Vann, Alice Graham, or stop by on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. in room 123.
