Bethel School in Felipe Camarão

Since 2002 FPC has supported the mission of Christ in Brazil. Our efforts have developed into a beautiful partnership with the Independent Presbyterian Church of Felipe Camarão, a small congregation in a poor section of Natal, Brazil. Through this partnership FPC helped to build and continues to support the Bethel School, which offers education and spiritual learning for over 150 neighborhood children Pre-K through Grade 2.

Below is a video showing Felipe Camarão Presbyterian Church’s outreach to youth and children in the neighborhood, which is flourishing as some parents of teens - who themselves were once youth at the church - are stepping up to share the Gospel teachings about God’s love for them to anchor these young people’s lives in a world that is challenging for families everywhere. Weekly gatherings provide opportunity for dialogue and study as these teens and children grow as a community in body, mind, and spirit.

Mentoring and walking with the young people of all ages in Felipe Camarão – kids from the school, the church, and the community – is changing lives by bringing the Gospel and the love of Jesus alive!

Brazil Mission

Deaf Owned Translation of the Bible

There are 2.6 million people in Brazil who are deaf and do not have a Bible in their language. Libras is the sign language of Brazil. Since its beginnings in 2019, First Presbyterian Church of Bristol has supported DOT and their incredible effort to bring God’s Word through video translation (NT completion goal: 2023) and a phone app that allows immediate and constant access to scripture already translated.
