SANCTUARY CHOIR: The Sanctuary Choir of First Presbyterian Church is a faithful and dedicated group of adults (college age and up), providing music for 11:00 a.m. worship on a weekly basis as well as for additional services such as Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday. In addition, the choir collaborates on an occasional basis with the King College Symphonic Choir to present a major choral work, usually as part of the church’s Arts Series. Rehearsals are Wednesdays, 7:15-8:45 p.m. In the choir room. All are welcome!

PRAISE TEAM: This group of adults, college students, and youth is under the direction of Dr. Fred Foy Strang, and provides music for 8:30 a.m. worship on a weekly basis. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings at 8:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

JUBILATE YOUTH CHOIR: For youth in grades 6-12, this choir rehearses weekly, offering their gifts in worship on a monthly basis, including special services such as World Communion, Christmas Eve, and one of the Holy Week services. Rehearsals take place in the choir room on Sundays from 4:45-5:30 p.m., adjusted occasionally depending on the youth fellowship schedule.

SAVIOR’S SINGERS CHILDREN’S CHOIR: Children in grades 2-5 meet weekly throughout the program year to rehearse anthems, play instruments, play rhythm games, and learn how to offer their gifts as leaders in worship. As part of their leadership, this choir sings approximately once a month and participates in an annual Christmas pageant in December, which takes place in conjunction with the church’s Joy Gift Dinner. Rehearsals happen in the children’s choir room on Wednesdays from 4:45-5:30 p.m.

CHERUB CHOIR: Our younger singers, age 4-grade 1, learn how to make a joyful noise to God as they play rhythm games and other games teaching hand-eye coordination, as well as learning songs in praise of God to present for worship on an occasional basis. This group rehearses in the children’s choir room on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m., then go to Sunday School at 9:30 a.m.

ADULT HANDBELL CHOIR: In addition to providing music for Sunday morning worship on an occasional basis, this ensemble also participates in special services such as Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday. Weekly rehearsals are Mondays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the bell room.

YOUTH BELLS: A small, but growing ensemble, this group is for all youth in grades 6-12. This year, they are combined with the adult bells, rehearsing on Monday evenings from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

CHILDREN’S BELLS: A handbell/chime ensemble for grades 2-5, this is the preparatory ensemble for the Youth and Adult handbell ensembles. The children ring in worship when they have something prepared, and the more experienced ringers accompany children’s anthems which have bell parts. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 4:15-4:45 p.m., prior to Savior’s Singers Children’s Choir rehearsal.

ARTS SERIES: As the Feys are on sabbatical this fall, the FPC Arts Series is taking a sabbatical for the 2009-2010 season. Watch this space next fall for the 2010-2011 program dates.
